This is a site plan showing the placement of the footbridge over Chehalem Creek.

On the behalf of Chehalem Park & Recreation District, NV5 Inc., has submitted an application to the City of Newberg for a footbridge installation at Ewing Young Park, located at 1201 S Blaine Street. The development will include an approximate 95 foot long by 8 foot wide pedestrian footbridge across Chehalem Creek.  This project will be reviewed as a Type II Design Review. 

As a Type II Land Use Review, the public is invited to take part in the City's review of this project by sending in written comments during the public comment period beginning Wednesday, March 8, 2023.  The Community Development Director will make a decision at the end of a 14-day comment period.  If you send in written comments about this project, you will be sent information about any decision made by the City relating to this project.

All written comments received by 4:30 pm on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 will be incorporated into the staff report. Any issue which might be raised in an appeal of this case to the Land Use Board of Appeals (LUBA) must be submitted to the City in writing before this date.  You must include enough detail to enable the decision maker an opportunity to respond.  The applicable criteria used to make a decision on this application for design review and variance request approval are found in Newberg Development Code 15.220.050(B), 15.342, and 15.343.
