About the Planning Division
The Planning Division's mission is to "Help Shape a Well Rounded Community". We work on many different current, long range and economic development planning projects that are intended to make Newberg and even greater place to live, work, play, and visit.
Examples of these projects include the following:
Current Planning - permitting, including design review, land divisions, use permits, annexations, comprehensive plan amendments, and zone changes.
Long Range Planning - updates to the City of Newberg comprehensive plan, transportation system plan, urban growth boundary, and urban reserves; preparation of specific area plans; and development code amendments.
Economic Development Planning - publication of community profiles and other data, business assistance including assistance through a revolving loan fund, procuring grants for city projects, and supporting urban renewal agency projects.
