Newberg-Dundee Police Department Reserve Program
Thank you for your interest in the Newberg-Dundee Police Department Reserve program!
The Newberg-Dundee Police Department has a full-time, paid sworn staff of 35 officers to include the Chief of Police and two Captains. The department and its members serve a population of approximately 25,500 people with a tremendous amount of transient population traveling to and from the Oregon Coast and casinos.
Reserve Officers have a 40 year tradition of serving the communities of Newberg and Dundee by complementing the full time staff in varying assignments and duties.
Reserve police officer is a non-paid volunteer position but one that has extreme importance to the public safety services the department provides to our communities. Our reserve officers also assist many of our surrounding communities with their community festivals and events. For example; the Yamhill County Fair, Tigard Balloon Festival, Sherwood Cruise In and the Hillsboro Air Show.
Please see the attached Reserve Officer Position Description for more information about activities reserve officers engage in.
Becoming a reserve police officer is an excellent way to determine whether or not the law enforcement profession is right for you. Many of our reserve officers have been chosen to become full time law enforcement officers at many other police and sheriff’s departments around the region.
For more information, please contact Sgt. Joe Eubanks at 503-554-7797
