How to Park Legally in Newberg and Dundee
Where can I Park? - Operable and Regularly Driven Vehicles
- Paved driveways
- On-site parking lots (provided by business, commercial, industrial, or multifamily complexes)
- Vehicles driven on a daily basis can be parked on the street
Where can I park? - Discarded/Abandoned Vehicles
A discarded vehicle is one that does not have a current license plate and is
- inoperative,
- wrecked,
- dismantled,
- partially dismantled,
- abandoned, or
- junked.
Storing a discarded vehicle is prohibited, unless it is in an enclosed building.
Improper Parking on the Street
When parking on the streets of Newberg and Dundee, DO NOT:

Park in a marked space for persons with disabilities, or where “No Parking” signs are displayed. Permits for disability parking must be conspicuously displayed. (ORS 811.615)

Warnings, Tickets, and Parking Fines
- If you receive a warning, correct the parking violation immediately to avoid further enforcement.
- If you receive a citation, correct the parking violation immediately to avoid further citations.

Parking fines may vary from $50 to $265 for each occurrence based on Oregon Revised Statutes, Newberg Municipal Code, and Dundee Municipal Code. Some common examples include:
- Abandoned or Improperly Stored Vehicle - $50
- Unlawful use of a space for persons with disabilities - $165
Abandoned, Improperly Stored or hazardous vehicles can be towed at the owner’s expense. (NMC 10.15.030) (DMC 10.04.510)
Campers, Travel Trailers, and Motorhomes
According to Newberg Municipal Code (NMC) 15.445.165 no recreational vehicle shall be parked at the curb of any city street for more than 48 hours. Dundee Municipal Code states no longer than 72 hours and includes detached trailers.
Recreational vehicles not in daily use can be parked on the owner’s property as long as it’s not parked in the required front yard setback (NMC 15.410.020) (DMC 17.304.030) for more than 48 hours in Newberg and 72 hours in Dundee.
Having an improperly parked recreational vehicle could result in a $500 daily fine.
The Newberg and Dundee Municipal Code also states no person shall live in a recreational vehicle at any location other than a mobile home park, manufactured dwelling park, or a recreational vehicle park.
