The City of Newberg is conducting a code audit with eventual code amendments on Multi-family standards in the Comprehensive Plan and Development Code. 

The City applied for a Technical Assistance (TA) grant from the State of Oregon to conduct this project and was awarded the grant in December 2021.

The primary objective of this Project is to prepare an audit to the Comprehensive Plan and Development Code for compliance with Oregon's Needed Housing statutes. The audit will focus on clear and objective standards for multifamily housing (5+ units) with recommended code amendments for the Comprehensive Plan and Development Code. 

Tasks of the Project:

  • Task 1 - Project Kick Off and Inclusive Outreach Plan
  • Task 2 - Technical Analysis and Code Audit
  • Task 3 - Draft and Final Recommended Package of Code Amendments
  • Task 4 - Adoption 

Project Schedule:

Work on the plan began in March 2022 and will wrap up in April 2023. The project schedule is subject to change and we will do our best to keep this website information up to date.

Citizen Advisory Committee:

The Planning Commission is the acting Citizen Advisory Commmittee (CAC) for the Mulit-Family Code Audit and Amendments project. They will hold separate meetings for this project. See below for upcoming and past CAC meetings:
