The Newberg Affordable Housing Commission was formed by the City Council in 2012.  The charge of the Commission is to develop recommendations for consideration by the Council regarding how to best use the financial resources of the Newberg Affordable Housing Trust Fund.  This fund was created by Newberg with the following intention:  "The purpose of the Newberg Affordable Housing Trust Fund (NAHTF) is to support the development, preservation, and rehabilitation of housing that is affordable to the citizens of Newberg with incomes that do not exceed 100% of the area median income."

The Newberg Affordable Housing Trust Fund (NAHFT) has funding for the current fiscal year ending June 30, 2019. Funds are available to organizations (non-profit and for-profit)  and individuals that provide affordable housing and/or related services within Newberg.  Funds are to assist with the creation/acquisition of new affordable housing or the maintenance of existing affordable housing inventory within the community.  Up to $31,981 in loans are available from the NAHTF.  Loans may be requested from the City of Newberg throughout the current fiscal year.
