Reserve Officers have a 40 year tradition of serving the communities of Newberg and Dundee by complementing the full time staff in varying assignments and duties.
Reserve police officer is a non-paid volunteer position but one that has extreme importance to the public safety services the department provides to our communities. Our reserve officers also assist many of our surrounding communities with their community festivals and events. For example; the Yamhill County Fair, Tigard Balloon Festival, Sherwood Cruise In and the Hillsboro Air Show.

Becoming a reserve police officer is an excellent way to determine whether or not the law enforcement profession is right for you. Many of our reserve officers have been chosen to become full time law enforcement officers at many other police and sheriff’s departments around the region.
