The Patrol Division, which provides 24-hour service and protection to the community, is the most active, visible and important component of the police department. Officers are often seen responding to emergencies, conducting traffic enforcement, handling routine investigations, and making presentations to various local organizations.
Patrol officers were involved in more than 25,471 calls for service in 2022, as well as 1,006 adult arrests/custodies. More than 3,400 traffic citations and 1,885 warnings were issued, including 144 arrests for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants. There were 478 contacts with persons experiencing behavioral health incidents.
