Traffic Safety Team
The Newberg-Dundee Police Department's Traffic Safety Team has promoted traffic safety in the community for over 25 years. The team focuses on traffic law enforcement and education, including traffic safety presentations for interest groups and schools.
Radar Speed Information Trailers
In 2015 the Department purchased two new Stalker radar speed information trailers. These trailers have the ability to take speed surveys, in addition to being a visual indicator of a passing vehicles speed. They are placed in business and residential areas with reported concerns about speeding vehicles and conditions presenting a traffic safety hazard. The trailers are placed for a length of time and are followed by enhanced traffic enforcement. The trailers’ placement locations are based on citizens’ requests to the Department and officers’ observations of problem areas.
Educational Presentations
The Traffic Safety Team participates in many traffic safety events throughout the year. Officers participate in several presentations with local school groups and community organizations. They promote general traffic safety and emphasize the importance for drivers to make sober and safe decisions.
