Inflow and Infiltration Program
The City has a Stormwater and Inflow and Infiltration (I/I) program that works in conjunction with the sewer maintenance on repair and maintenance projects all year.
There are multiple goals to these programs.
- Storm-water management reduces high speed storm run off which erodes streams.
- Storm-water reduction also safeguards habitats and prevents street pollution from running into rivers.
- The I/I program addresses Inflow and Infiltration - water that finds its way into the sewers through cracks in pipes overloading the wastewater system which increases costs and increases service life of equipment.
- Replacement or repair is scheduled to address aging or failing storm or sewer lines under streets.
If you have questions about the sewer maintenance and I/I Program please contact our Engineering Division.
