
The Operations Division operates and maintains the Water & Wastewater Treatment Plants, Water Supply, 3 Resevoirs, Springs and Pump Stations. This includes the Recycled Water System, Newgrow Compost, Backflow Device program, Fats-Oils-Grease Prevention Program, Industrial Survey Pretreatment Program, Internal Process Control Laboratory and the annual Water Quality Report.
The Department maintains a staff of 14. 5 Certified Water and/or Waste Water Operators a Laboratory Compliance Specialist, an Envorimental Services Manger, 1 Mechanic, a plant supervisor for Water and Wastewater who each are also Certified Operators 1 a mechanic and 1 a IT Specialist, a Utility employee and an office employee. The entire Operations Staff is overseen by the Superintendent who is also a certifed Operator with years of experience in operations. The Staff utilize computerized technology and modern systems practices along with constant training to provide efficient, consistant and safe services to the citizens of Newberg.
The City of Newberg complies with environmental regulations and monitors and tests the water system to insure safe drinking water that meets state and federal standards.
