OBOB Team Event
Saturday, January 3rd, 2026 | 2:00pm

Calling all elementary OBOB teams! Bring your team to this event for an informal practice session using questions created by Newberg Library staff. Enter a drawing to try and win a 2025-2026 OBOB title to keep. Then, stay for an OBOB t-shirt-making event. Be sure to bring your own cotton shirt - we will provide an iron-on OBOB logo transfer for each team member. (Logo is black and will not work on a black shirt).
Unofficial OBOB Challenge
Tuesday, September 9th, 2025 - Wednesday, April 1st, 2026

  • Stop by the Children’s Desk to pick up your challenge form
  • Read at least four current OBOB titles
  • Everyone is welcome, no need to be on an official team
  • Completed forms entered in drawing for a Chapters gift card

Important Dates for the 2025-26 Season
September 1st to October 31st Read and nominate books for the 2026-27 season 
September 1st to October 31st Register at your school for the OBOB Competition
January 3rd, 2026 Winter Break Team Event at the Newberg Public Library
Late January into February of 2026 School Competitions: Talk to your school coordinator
Starting January 2026 Regional Tournaments: March of 2026 with details to be announced 
April 11th, 2026 State Tournament at Chemeketa Community College
