District 2 Vacancy - Filled
2022 Newberg City Council Vacancy
District No. 2
Peggy Kilburg was chosen to fill the District 2 vacancy on City Council at their June 21 meeting.
She will be sworn into office at the July 5 meeting. Click here for meeting information.
The Council appreciates all those who applied for the vacancy, which included:
- David Reid, who works for Sea Reach Ltd, an interpretive exhibit and signage company.
- Rev. Casey Banks who is the pastor at Newberg First United Methodist Church.
- Peggy Kilberg who is retired (formerly HR Director for George Fox University).
- Daniel Lindsey, who is a manager at Fred Meyer.
City Council Members:
- Set policy for the entire City
- Approve the City budget
- Attend two Council meetings per month and committees as assigned.
- Participate in intergovernmental relations
- Supervise City Manager, City Attorney, and Municipal Judge
Qualifications & Residency Requirements
Candidates must:
- Be a registered voter
- Resided within the City of Newberg for at least one year.
- Reside within the boundaries of District No. 2
