Councilor Mike McBride
Mike McBride - Councilor District 5
Mike McBride is the representative for District 5 on the Newberg City Council. He was elected to a four year term in office in the fall of 2020. His term is from 2021-2024.
Mike is a lifelong Newberg resident and has been in business for 39 years as a Farmers Insurance agent. Mike served on the Board of Directors for Chehalem Parks and Recreation for 35 years. He was involved in the planning of the parks, golf course and the new aquatic center in Newberg, along with future improvements to the district. He also served on Newberg City Council in 2003 until he moved to a different district in Newberg and had to resign.
Mike believes that affordable housing can be achieved by planning and bringing family sustaining jobs to Newberg. He brings a vision of balance such as housing and business opportunities through reduced taxes and fees. Mike is willing to look at the whole picture of what is best for Newberg and its residents, while listening to the concerns of the people of Newberg. Honesty and integrity will always be a guiding force in his life.

District 5 is generally located in northeast Newberg north of Portland Road (Highway 99) and east of Villa Road and Hess Creek.
