Oregon Department of Transportation gets ready to shift traffic on Wynooski Road to the new alignment

Two road closures will be needed to construct the connections

May 8, 2017 - News Release

NEWBERG, OR - The re-alignment on Wynooski to the overpass bridge will require a short term closure of the Wynooski Rd. at 11th St. This road closure will begin May 9, 2017 and should last about 1 week. Traffic will be detoured via 11th Street on this phase 1. To access the City of Newberg compost depot, the RV Dump Station and the Waste Management Transfer Station, travelers must take Highway 219/St. Paul Highway and turn on to Wynooski Rd.

Phase two will begin May 16, expect delays. Traffic will be switched to the new alignment and the connection at the east end of Wynooski will be constructed using flaggers and a partial closure. No detour will be required, but travelers should expect delays.

Phase three May 29, road closure. Reconstruction of the 11th St. connection will require a closure of the intersection for approximately a week after Memorial Day.

Phase four. Removal of the old Wynooski road section should not impact traffic, except with some minor delays from flaggers for trucks etc.
