The Newberg Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on August 9, 2012 at 7 p.m. at the Newberg Public Safety Building, 401 E. Third Street, Newberg, OR, to evaluate the following proposal:
Chehalem Cultural Center: Master plan, ballroom remodel, historic review, & parking variance (continued from July 12, 2012 - public testimony is closed). Located at 415 E. Sheridan Street, tax lot 3218DD-15700. The application includes: 1) Design review for a Concept Master Site Development Plan, which reviews the conceptual plan for the full build out of the site; 2) A Variance request to reduce the amount of required off-street parking for the full build-out to 53 spaces; 3) A Historic Landmark Modification Review/Design review for remodeling the gymnasium into a ballroom, and construction of a new northern entrance to the ballroom.

The staff recommendation regarding this project will be available one week before the hearing. If you have any questions, please call the Newberg Planning Division at 503-537-1240. The Planning Commission took public testimony at the July 12, 2012 meeting, continued the hearing to August 9, 2012, and left the record open for two seven-day periods for additional written testimony. On August 9, 2012 the Planning Commissioners will continue the hearing, consider the written testimony that was submitted, and deliberate on the application.
