City Council met for their regularly scheduled meeting on August 17th 2026 and the following transpired:
- Heard a presentation from the Newberg Animal Shelter
- Made a Proclamation about the City of Newberg's 20th Anniversary with Sister City Poysdorf, Austria
- Heard Presentations from TLT Receiving Entities: Newberg Downtown Coalition, Chamber of Commerce and Taste Newberg, fulfilling their contractual obligations
- Heard Public comment and discussed the memorials at the flagpole in downtown Newberg. No decision was made.
- Heard a presentation from Danette Hilton Engineering Project Manager, regarding the Janitorial Services Contract, who will return for a more formal presentation after the bidding has closed.
- Public Works Director Ahmad Qayoumi gave a brief overview of the Competitive Bidding for the oxidation ditch for Waste Water Treatment Plant alerting council that this will be brought to council for a minimum of three future touchpoints. The presentation was postponed to a future council meeting
