Earlier this year, the city of Newberg and Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue (TVF&R) began working in partnership when it was clear TVF&R would need a location to house their critical emergency response apparatus while Station 20 was under remodel. This location will provide their agency with a secure location to access their emergency vehicles quickly. When the remodel of Station 20 is completed, the parking improvements will either be kept in place where NDPD will use the space for parking expansion, or the land will be returned to its original condition.
During discussions about this piece of property and its use, the City of Newberg has carefully considered the needs of their community partners like the CPRD and the members of the Old Fashion Festival. This project will have a limited impact on events hosted in the park by these community partners.
