Planning Division

The Community Development Department's Planning Division reviews land use applications, develops land use plans, and administers programs that help create livable communities and accommodate population growth. 

 

Planning Division Work Plan

The Planning Division maintains a work plan based on the City of Newberg's goals and needs in order to prioritize work on projects and issue areas related to the City's highest needs. The Work Plan is divided into three parts including:

The projects in the Work Plan include long-range planning, current planning, and program administration which are divided into categories:

  • Critical Projects are those most important to the City Council and which merit prioritization of the Community Dvelopment Department's staff time and other resources. 
  • Significant Projects are those that have value and are important to the city which would be next in line for work efforts when staff and resources are available.
  • Other Projects are those that are important but require signficant staff time and resources, are not time-senstive, or may not have a direct relationship to City Council goals.
