Get Involved!
Volunteers who serve on Newberg’s boards and committees are foundational to informing the development of our programs and policies. Our volunteers dedicate their time and expertise to serve as an important link to community needs and represent community values. We welcome people of all backgrounds and experiences to serve on our boards and committees. Applications are available during open recruitment period. Most of the board, committee and commission openings occur in the Fall each year.
Committee recruitment is now open to fill vacancies beginning January 2025. Learn more about the duties of the various committees at the links below. Volunteers like you make Newberg a great place to grow!
Unable to serve but would still like to be involved and help your city? Here are a few things you can do to help your community:
- Attend Public Meetings
- City Council meetings meet the 1st and 3rd Monday of every month
- Other Committees/Commissions meet throughout the year, follow this LINK to see our public meeting schedule
- Share this website with your community
- post it on your social media
- pass to friends, family or neighbors
- During recruitment times, post our fliers in your neighborhood or on community boards
Applications for Member and student commissioners will be accepted on a rolling basis until vacancies are filled.
Vacancies:
- Rate Review Committee: 4 committee member seats, 1 student seat
- Budget Committee: 1 committee member seat
- Traffic Safety Commission: 2 commissioner seats, 1 student seat
- Newberg Urban Renewal Agency-Citizens Advisory Committee: 1 committee member seat
- Newberg Urban Renewal Agency-Budget Committee: 3 member seats
