October 21st - 26th is National Prescription Drug Take Back Week
The National Prescription Drug Take-Back week aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription and over the counter medications, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse, dangers and theft of medications. In addition it is harmful to our sewer system to dispose of medications in the toilet or sink where treatment systems are not designed to process these substances and they pass into our environment.
The City of Newberg offers a FREE DROP BOX year round for the public to safely and confidentially dispose of all medications including pet medications.
Take this opportunity to clean out those cupboards, travel kits and drawers and safely privately dispose of the medications that are expired or no longer needed.
The Drop Box is located at the Newberg Public Safety Building (401 E. Third Street) Lobby all year Monday – Friday 8-4pm.
