George Fox University Cultural and Athletic Events
Newberg is home to George Fox University, a private Christian university. The university hosts cultural and athletic events all year long.

George Fox is a leader in NCAA Division III athletics. In 2008, the GFU women captured the NCAA D3 basketball national championship after a perfect 32-0 season. In 2004, the GFU baseball team won the D3 World Series. The university features 15 varsity sports, eight for women (golf, volleyball, soccer, cross country, basketball, softball, tennis, and outdoor track and field) and seven for men (golf, soccer, cross country, basketball, baseball, tennis, and outdoor track and field). In 2014, the University will add football to its cadre.
