Water Wise Garden
Water-Wise Garden and Certified Wildlife Habitat
(National Wildlife Federation)
Come and explore Newberg's Water-Wise Demonstration Garden located on the N.E. corner of Highway 99W and N. Blaine Street.
Newberg Public Works and contributing partners have created the Water-Wise Demonstration Garden and Wildlife Habitat to give the public examples of water-wise sustainable choices for building, designing, and installing landscapes, irrigation systems, and hardscapes.
If you have questions regarding the garden, please contact the City of Newberg Public Works Maintenance Division at 503.537.1234
Project Overview:
A parking lot on highway 99W and Blaine Street has been transformed into a year-round waterwise demonstration garden and wildlife habitat. Newberg Public Works and contributing partners have created this area to give the public and private sectors examples of water-wise sustainable choices they can make when building, designing, and installing landscapes, irrigation systems, and hardscapes.
Not every type of native plant, storm-water system, irrigation controller, or water-wise idea is represented at this site. However it is a good example of utilizing several methods in a small space to conserve retain and create a wildlife habitat at the same time. Our hope is that every visitor can take away ideas from this project for their own use.
