Calendar Date:
Tuesday, May 26, 2015 - 1:30pm to 1:45pm

Join us on Tuesday, May 26th at 1:30-1:45 pm for the 4th annual STOP, DROP & READ event in Newberg.

In recognition of the importance of reading, the Library is partnering with our community to participate in Stop, Drop & Read, a time for schools, businesses and individuals to stop what they are doing and read.   Anyone can participate by just stopping what you are doing, dropping what you have in your hands and reading.  It's that simple.

The Library is sponsoring a Reading Flash Mob.  Join us and the Newberg Graphic, Wine Country Antiques and First Community Credit Union as we take 15 minutes to read and demonstrate the importance of reading to our community at the reading flash mob at our corner of Howard and Hancock Streets.   Bring your favorite book, magazine or ereader or we'll have reading material available too.

If you'd like a yard sign to put in your yard to support Stop Drop & Read, ask at the Checkout Desk and we'll get you one.

You don't have to come to the library to participate.  If you are school, have your class or entire school Stop Drop & Read.     If you are a business, step outside or stay inside and read.  Individuals can stop what they are doing and read.  It's an easy way to show you are reading.    You can click here for a sign to put up or to hold with your book to show why you are reading.

If you are participating in a Stop Drop & Read event, please email leah.griffith@newbergoregon.gov with your name and how many people are participating at your location.

Stop, Drop & Read is sponsored by Newberg Public Library and our partners in area schools and the Newberg Fire Department.
