Financial Assistance Municipal Services Bill
Need Help Paying Your Bill?
The City of Newberg offers financial assistance to cover a portion of your municipal services (utility) bill.
Veterans & Service Member Utility Credit applications are only accepted June 1 - June 30 for bill credit. Other payment assistance or payment plans may available for those that qualify listed below. | Información en Español |

Financial Hardship Vouchers
If you are experiencing a short-term need for payment assistance, you can contact one of the local service offices to apply for aid. Click Apply directly through service voucher sites for a list of offices.
Bill Credit
Receive a monthly credit on your Newberg Municipal Service account. Active accounts for water and sewer services receive $25.00 monthly credit. Active accounts billed with water services only, receive $15.00 monthly credit.
Qualifying Customers
- Households with limited income, or one active military or veteran in the household
- Must live in Newberg
- Must have a current account, cannot be more than 30 days delinquent at any time of approved assistance
Active Military and Veteran Households
Note | Accepting applications only between June 1 - June 30 for active military and veterans assistance. |
- Complete the Military Veteran Application for Bill Credit | SPANISH Solicitud para miembros o veteranos de fuerzas armadas EE.UU.
- Attach proof of service showing name of applicant: active duty photo ID, supporting documentation and/or discharge documents
Limited Income Households
- Complete the Application for Bill Credit | SPANISH Solicitud para ayuda con el pago de agua
- Attach one or more supporting documents showing name of applicant and dates:
- Supplemental Social Security Income (SSI) verification
- Oregon Medical Card
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) – Food stamps – SNAP card or award letter with date of award
- Medicaid card
- Free and Reduced School Lunch or Breakfast Program Letter from the Newberg School District indicating school year
Payment Arrangements
Payment Due Date Extension - On a case by case basis, the City of Newberg will grant an extension on the due date to avoid service disconnection and fees associated with a delinquent account.
Payment Plans - Call the Utility Billing Department to find out if this may be an option for you.
