Special Olympics Oregon

The City of Newberg supports Special Olympics Oregon-Yamhill County. Come "Tip-A-Cop" for superb service on Monday, May 18 from 5-9 p.m. at Cooperstown Bar & Grill, 705 N. Springbrook Road. This benefit event will raise money to help provide training facilities and sports equipment for practices, uniforms, travel and lodging to the competition. The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

Here is a great video on the You Tube Channel produced by Folklore Media that portrays what it means to be involved in a Special Olympics Oregon State Games. We feel that it shows how being involved with our athletes affects so many people throughout the community. Please feel free to share this far and wide and invite those you come in contact with to join you at Summer State Games this July 11th and 12th in Newberg, Oregon sponsored by A-Dec.
