Alarm Permit
The City of Newberg City Code requires a permit for residential and commercial alarm systems within the Newberg City limits. There is no fee for the alarm permit. However, a $50 charge may be assessed for failure to obtain a permit prior to alarm activation.
Citizens are allowed two false alarms in a calendar year before being charged for a false alarm. After the initial two false alarms, a $50 fee will be charged for each false alarm thereafter up to nine, at which time any subsequent false alarms will be $100 per false alarm.
False Alarm is defined as any alarm system which results in the dispatch of police, fire or emergency medical personnel to the protected premises where they are unable to discover any evidence of an emergency condition. It does not include an alarm signal caused by conditions of nature or some other extraordinary circrumstances not reasonably subject to control by the alarm user.
