Stream Corridors as a Goal 5 Resource

The Stream Corridors as a Goal 5 Resource report evaluates and identifies stream corridor resources in Newberg.  At the time of the study, site specific assessments were conducted to evaluate the location, quality and quantity of resource sites. The evaluation of issues derived from this information and from public input have been used to draft stream corridor delineation boundaries and regulations to further implement the statewide planning goal.

In the Newberg area, three streams flow from the base of the mountains to the Willamette: Chehalem Creek on the western boundary, Hess Creek in the center, and Springbrook Creek near the eastern boundary. Stream corridors provide important wildlife habitat, water quality protection, and aesthetic values.
