The Newberg Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on February 11, 2010 at 7 p.m. at the Newberg Public Safety Building, 401 E. Third Street, Newberg, OR, to evaluate the following proposals:

 

1.      Affordable Housing Action Plan Implementation. The Planning Commission will consider changes to the Newberg Comprehensive Plan and Newberg Development Code to support the development of more affordable housing. The changes would do the following:

Ø     Add design standards for housing that promote the development of attractive, livable, and functional neighborhoods.

Ø     Make an overall recommendation on a set of affordable housing Development Code and Comprehensive Plan amendments to the City Council.

The staff recommendations regarding these proposals will be available one week before the public hearing. If you have any questions, please call the Newberg Planning Division at 503-537-1240. All interested persons may appear and provide testimony. Any written testimony must be submitted by February 4, 2010. Only those persons who participate either orally or in writing in the hearing proceedings leading to the adoption of the action may appeal the decision.
