Two property owners submitted an application to the City of Newberg to vacate the portion of Ninth Street between Industrial Parkway and Hwy 219. Ownership of the right of way would revert to the adjacent property owners. The Newberg City Council held a public hearing regarding the application on July 5, 2011. The Council passed a motion tentatively approving the application to vacate the portion of the Ninth Street right-of-way dedicated to the City between Industrial Parkway and Highway 219. The approval was conditional upon the applicant supplying legal descriptions/exhibits prepared by a surveyor of the area to be vacated and any necessary utility and access easements, as described in the staff report. The Council directed staff to prepare an ordinance complete with the right-of-way and easement exhibits for final approval by the City Council.
