Flood Insurance Rate Maps
Flood Insurance Rate Maps, commonly known as "flood maps", are used to identify flood hazard areas for the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). The maps have recently been revised by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and will be effective as of March 2, 2010. The flood hazard area has not changed much since 1983, the last time the maps were revised. The maps have been revised in order to convert the 1983 maps to a digital format and to correct labeling errors. One new feature is that the maps now include aerial photography, which makes identifying locations easier.  The flood maps may also be viewed on the web at the FEMA  interactive flood map website , which allows users to search for property by address. FEMA has divided Newberg into five areas, "panels",  with a unique identification number for each panel. Copies of the official flood maps can be viewed by clicking on the links below:
Flood Study for Yamhill County
The flood study provides background information and technical documentation for the flood maps. The study will be effective as of March 2, 2010. As with the flood maps, the study shows that little has changed since 1983 in regard to the flood hazard areas.
