On October 27, 2011, the Yamhill County Commissioners held a public hearing to discuss a proposal to adopt coordinated population forecasts for the County and every urban area in the county. The Commissioners continued the hearing to May 2012.  Oregon state law requires that the county adopt and maintain these population projections. The coordinated population was forecasted using the most recent forecast from the Oregon Office of Economic Analysis. The forecasts for the individual cities was developed using forecasts from the city’s comprehensive plan and extending them to 2031, where appropriate.
