Facilities Renovation, Repair, and Expansion
In 2007 Brown and Caldwell completed a wastewater treatment facilities evaluation plan that examined the Wastewater Treatment system’s ability to meet future demands, based on projected population growth, expected changes in state and federal regulations, system equipment capacity and life expectancy, existing and emerging technology, and other factors. The plan identified immediate and long-term needs for renovation, repair, and expansion of the treatment system.
The City has recently hired HDR Engineering to design Phase 1 and Phase 2 projects of this plan.
- Phase 1 projects are immediately needed upgrades and expansions of the present treatment system.
- Phase 2 projects are those required to meet the projected demands on the system out to the year 2030.
Brown and Caldwell recently completed an environmental assessment of the potential impacts of the projects identified in the facilities plan, and HDR Engineering is in the initial stages of the design project.
The City is seeking federal stimulus funding for the design and construction of these projects.
