Are you changing your oil too often?  Not often enough?

Most people change their oil every 3,000 miles, however many of the newer engines don't need their oil changed for 5,000 or 7,000 miles.  Changing it more frequently doesn't help the car's engine; it just means you spend more money.  Because the frequency for oil changes depends on the make and model of your car, check your owner's manual for the correct frequency.

Can't find your owner's manual?  Tossed it when you needed the glove compartment for your biking and hiking trail maps?  CheckYourNumber.org can help you determine how often to change the oil.  One gallon of oil can pollute 1,000,000 gallons of water.

IF you change the oil yourself, please recycle the oil at Waste Management - Newberg Depot 2904 Wynooski St off Hwy 219 503-538-1388 and help our rivers and streams.

Remember it is never permitted to drain oil or other fluids into the street storm drains or sewers.
