Career Firefighter

Thanks to a Federal Grant under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, our downtown station (Sta. 20) is undergoing a much needed remodel. Most of the work will be interior work focused on improvements for firefighter safety, however the work will also include a new public entryway.

If you are interested in becoming a paid firefighter with Newberg Fire Department please see the below requirments.

Minimum Requirments:

*Must be at least 18 years of age
*Posses a valid driver's licence
*Have a highschool diploma or GED
*Pass a medical exam and physical ability test
*Pass a extensive criminal background check
*Clean driving record
*NFPA Firefighter I
*NFPA Driver/Pumper Operator
*Oregon Paramedic certification

Due to NFD success with hiring from the inside it is strongly encouraged to those that have interest at obtaining employment with NFD to join our volunteer.
