  • 1.5 million barrels of crude oil are used annually for making plastic water bottles.  That is enough oil to fuel 100,000 American cars for a year.  

  • 2.7 tons of plastic are used to create water bottles every year. 86% of those bottles are thrown in the garbage or in our neighborhoods and creeks.

Want to learn more about water conservation and get showerheads and faucet aerators for free?  Don't have time to stop by the Water Conservation Table?  If you are a low-income customer, the City of Newberg will provide you with a free water assessment that includes free showerheads and faucet aerators in addition to information about water conservation.  To find out if you qualify, fill out an application form and send it to the Utility Billing Department, 414 E First Street, PO Box 970, Newberg, Oregon  97132.


City of Newberg Conserves!
The City of Newberg serves over 20,000 people primarily using 7 groundwater wells located south of the City.  Through conservation by you and the City, our water needs have stayed low even though our population has increased!  If you are interested in information about water conservation, please pick up free booklets, shower timers, low-flow faucets, and water gauges at our Water Conservation Table in City Hall.  Check the Water Miser; ideas are always changing for ways to conserve water.
