The City Recorder's Office functions as a point of access for the general public and news media to elected officials and the organization by serving as the clerk of the City Council.
Organizational Functions
Additional duties of the City Recorder is the custodian of and manages the City's Code, Charter, ordinances, resolutions, and orders. The Office of the City Recorder maintains the City Seal and is responsible for recording and archiving of official records, proceedings, and legislative history of the City of Newberg. The Office strives to provide professional, courteous, and timely assistance to the city’s citizens, City departments, and other agencies. The City Recorder publishes agendas and minutes for the City Council; manages City records, such as deeds, contracts, and easements; fulfills public records requests; and maintains the City’s historical records.

Mrs. Alley began work in local government in 1997, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Political Science from George Fox University, and is a Master Municipal Clerk through the International Institute of Municipal Clerks.
