Plan and Be Prepared
- Plan Early, don't wait. Be prepared for any emergency.
- Don't build up large supplies of cash at your home, criminals may want to take advantage of you and you will not be insured.
- Get to know your neighbors, prepare as a group. Neighbors are whom you will be relying on during a major disaster.
- Do not call 9-1-1 to check if there has been an earthquake or to see if the system still works after a major emergency, call the business line @538-8321.
- Have a contact person out-of-state to call and check in with.
- Be careful using alternative fire or heat sources
For emergency information
- Listen to your radio
- Public Safety agencies can use PA systems in neighbors if needed
- Plan on limited information during the first 24 hours of a disaster
- Don't panic! Use common sense

CodeRED
Code Red is a high speed telephone communication service used for emergency notifications.
A dispatch supervisor or other authorized City of Newberg supervisor pre-records an emergency message and then launchs the call. CodeRED then calls all phone numbers included in the emergency list for a specific geographic area, delivering the emergency message very quickly.
All residents of the cities of Newberg and Dundee and their surrounding rural areas are encouraged to sign up to receive CodeRED notifications in the case of an emergency situation.
